The pet version of the "I'm so sorry I lied" trend is the funniest way to post your dog or cat this month: three AI slides turn your pet into a groomed, tiara-wearing princess at a luxury photo shoot, then the real photo lands on the beat drop and shows the scruffy couch dog it always was. This guide explains where the pet version comes from and how to make it with AI from one photo on Oraclip, with captions, credit costs and tips so it still looks like your pet.

What is the "I'm so sorry I lied" pet trend?

It is a TikTok photo carousel. The first slides show an impossibly glamorous version of your pet, each caption admits one lie ("ok sorry, it wasn't a photo shoot"), and the last slide is the real photo, usually captioned "I'm so sorry".

  • The format started in Spanish as "perdón" in mid-October 2026, with sports and job posts from Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
  • Pets joined almost immediately. The best-known post is the chihuahua "princess" by @jimherrp031727, posted October 17, 2026 (UTC), with 13.7M views by October 24.
  • @guada479's groomed dog ("Este es el perrito de mi marido… mentira, no tengo marido") has 5.7M views, and @ssecrettttt_20's fluffy bow dog 2.1M.
  • The English Halloween costume version ("I'm so sorry I lied") took off a few days later. Our I'm So Sorry I Lied AI page makes the costume, pet and sports versions.

How to make the pet version with AI

  1. Open I'm So Sorry I Lied AI and pick 🐶 Pet in step 1.
  2. Add one photo of your pet. One animal, face and fur clearly visible. The messier and more ordinary the photo, the better the joke.
  3. Choose what you claim your pet is. Princess, Lion, Supermodel, Royal, Superhero or Pumpkin, or type your own. Each one comes with its accessory: a tiara and tulle cape, a fluffy lion mane, a pearl collar, a velvet cape and crown.
  4. Pick Dog, Cat or Pet, so the first caption reads "This is my dog, a real princess".
  5. Pick 3 lies (or 2) and a quality. Best is the default for pets because it keeps the fur colour and face closest.
  6. Generate. You get the slides and an 11-second vertical video with a royalty-free track; the real photo lands at 6.9 seconds, on the beat drop.

The three lies, from the truth upwards

The AI edits your photo three times, each edit made from the one before, so only one thing changes per slide. The video plays them in reverse.

Slide What the AI changes Default caption
1 · Photo shoot Luxury set: velvet cushion, flowers, warm studio light "This is my dog, a real princess"
2 · Outfit Adds the accessory (tiara, mane, crown…) "Ok sorry, it wasn't a photo shoot"
3 · Grooming Salon fluff and shine, same fur colour "Ok sorry, there was no tiara"
4 · The truth Your real photo "I'm so sorry"

All captions are editable before you download.

It works with cats too

A tabby cat as royalty, made with Oraclip (Fast quality)

The AI keeps the stripes, the white paws and the same pose; only the grooming, the outfit and the set change. Royal and Lion are the cat favourites.

Captions from real pet posts

Pet posts mostly use 4 slides. Lines people actually used, ready to copy:

  • "This is my dog posing" → "ok i lied, he's not that fluffy" → "he doesn't wear bows either" → "and his bed isn't that nice" → "i'm so sorry"
  • "Esta es mi chihuahua princess" → … → "perdón" (the Spanish original)
  • Our default for a cat: "This is my cat, a real royal" → "Ok sorry, it wasn't a photo shoot" → "Ok sorry, there was no crown" → "I'm so sorry"

Tips so it still looks like your pet

  • One pet per photo, face and fur large and clear. No people in the frame.
  • Use Best if your pet has a subtle coat colour (tan, cream, brindle). The prompt locks the shade and markings, and Best follows it most closely.
  • Pick a claim that fits a small accessory. The joke is the gap between glam and reality, not a costume that hides your pet.
  • Ordinary photos win: the couch, the messy bed, the muddy walk. The truth slide is the punchline.
  • Not happy with one slide? Run it again. Each run is a fresh set.
  • Accessories stay soft and pet-friendly, and nothing covers the eyes, nose or mouth.

FAQ

Can I do the "I'm so sorry I lied" trend with my dog or cat?

Yes. Pick 🐶 Pet on I'm So Sorry I Lied AI, add one clear photo and choose a claim such as Princess or Lion. You get three AI slides and the real photo as the last one.

Will the AI change my pet's fur colour or breed?

No. Every edit is told to keep the same animal, breed look, face, markings and fur colour, "never lighter, darker, warmer or cooler", and the same body size and pose. Only the grooming, the accessory and the set change.

How much does the pet version cost?

The same as the costume version: 144 credits for 3 lies on Best, or 42 on Fast (96 or 28 for 2 lies). Failed edits are refunded.

What is the "perdón" pet trend?

The Spanish original of the same carousel: an AI glow-up of your pet, peeled back one "perdón" (sorry) at a time down to the real photo.

Does the video have the TikTok sound?

The video uses a royalty-free track with the beat drop at 6.9 seconds, so you can post it anywhere. For the trend sound, post the slides as a TikTok carousel and pick the sound in TikTok.
